Another Week Has Come and Gone

July 5th – July 8th

I can’t believe that almost a month of my maternity leave has passed…and Ryder is almost 4 weeks old.  I really want time to slow down!!

Monday was the 4th so it was included in my 4th of July post.  So this week starts on Tuesday.

I am loving me some omelets lately!!  I think I’ve ate one every morning this week!  All that protein keeps me full longer!!

Tuesday

Maddox wanted to go out and play at his water table.  Being the good Mom I am…I sent him out in his PJ’s.  Oh well, that’s just living!!  He has finally figured out how to play with it…without sitting in it!

Wednesday

I went to the salon and got my hair did!!  I needed a haircut desperately!!  You know when you work in a profession…you put yourself last.  I also did Denise’s hair (she did my hair) and my Mawmaw.  After being there almost 4 hours…I was having baby withdrawals..it is going to be so hard to go back to my 12 hour days.  My heart will hurt!

Maddox cracks me up…he is into trucks right now and tries to ride all of them…no matter how small they are!!!

Once again…I let him get soaked in his clothes! It was late in the evening and I knew we would be going in to get a bath soon!

He was loving his time playing with neighbors Jordan and Caleb!!

Thursday

Ryder loves sleeping on his tummy!  I know babies are not supposed to be put on their tummy for sleeping but I let him do it when he naps and I keep a close eye on him.

Maddox wanted to lay with Ryder on his play mat!!  Wow, he looks so big!!  It was too cute!

He also likes to act like he is drinking his bottles.  He puts it in his mouth and then takes it out and says “ewwww…..naty (nasty)”!

Friday

Chris was off work, so we had a fun day planned to take Maddox to the splash pad!!  He had a ball!!  I love to watch him play!!  Chris enjoyed getting to watch him too!!

After the splash pad, we went to Aunt J J’s pool.  We were trying to wear him out!  We all had fun at the pool and even I was able to swim!!! Yay!!

Little Ryder just snoozed the whole time!!

Friday evening, Chris got some Daddy time and went carp fishing…his HS buddy Kenny went with him.  Kenny also got to meet Ryder!!

Since Chris got some Daddy time on Friday…I got some Mommy time on Saturday!  What did I do?  Shop of course!  Mainly taking things back and exchanging them…and I always end up buying for the boys.  It’s just no fun shopping for myself right now.  I did end up finding me a bathing suit which I felt like was a HUGE accomplishment….but like most bathing suits…I’m sure after I wear it one time…I will find something I don’t like about it!  Does anyone else feel that way?  I know the lady that was in the dressing room next to me does!ha!! 

I also got to meet Ryder’s new little buddy!!  More to come!!

Ryder’s Nursery Sneak Peek!!

So we definitely still have a lot to do in the nursery but slowly and surely it is starting to come together!!

I wanted to make Ryder’s nursery completely different from Maddox’s!  Chris had a lot of input (sports, blue, sports) on how we did Maddox’s room so he gave me permission to do whatever I wanted to do in Ryder’s!!! Yay!!

Chris got out lucky on this nursery b/c he did not have to do any painting.  The room was an office before and we had already painted it this mossy green color….which I love and did not want to have to change.  I just didn’t think I would find boy bedding that would go with green.  I found my inspiration from a custom baby bedding website but it was way too expensive to buy so….I found the exact same fabric online at a fabric website and ordered it.  When it came in….I was so excited to see that the green in the fabric was in the same green family as the wall color!!! Yay again!!

My talented Mom custom made my bedding!!!  She did an amazing job and to beat all….this was the first time she has done crib bedding!!! Wow!!!  I hope to learn to sew like her one day!!

I didn’t really know about sock monkeys when Maddox was a baby so I definitely wanted to get a sock monkey for Ryder!

I also didn’t know about Etsy when I was planning Maddox’s nursery….which was probably a  good thing! ha!  The blocks are from www.msn2hood.etsy.com I just got them in the mail today and am just tickled over them!!!

The orange lanterns are decorations from Maddox’s birthday party that I am thinking about hanging up in a corner….what do you think?  Yay or Nay?

And this is Mr. froggy….he is also a decoration that was from Maddox’s party and he matches perfectly in the room….he doesn’t have a permanent spot yet but I’m sure we will find one soon!  My mom also made the curtains!   She is currently working on pillows and my sister made the most beautiful crocheted blanket that matches his bedding.  I got a sneak peek at it the other day and was blown away at how beautiful and perfectly it matches!!  I still want to make a trip to Ikea soon and find a bookcase and we are going to do something special behind his crib!  Other than a few more things to hang and some accessories it will hopefully be finished up soon!!! So exciting!!!

Gender Reveal Party!!!

Monday was such a big day!!!  I had been anxiously waiting for January 24th to get here so that we could find out if we were having a BOY or GIRL!  Honestly, I had totally prepared myself for it to be a girl but I truly had no idea to what the baby would be.  A friend did the needle and thread test on me and it told me GIRL…Also, I could only imagine a GIRL nursery.  On the other hand my pregnancy feels the exact same as my pregnancy with Maddox and I could only think of BOY names .

My  Ultrasound appointment was at 2:00.  As soon as the tech put the thing on my belly….there it was…nice and clear…a little hotdog!!!  Chris and I just giggled with excitement!!!

At 6, all my family and some close friends came over to find out if Baby C is a BOY or GIRL!!!  It’s really funny because no one around this area has heard of a Gender Reveal Party and so most people looked at me like I had 2 heads when I told them I was having one! ha!  But I’m so glad I did because I had lots of fun planning it and lots of fun at the party.  It was so special to share the breaking news with everyone in person!

It’s time for the Games to begin….I went thru my guesstures game and picked out cards that related to a baby or a boy or girl!  We did 4 rounds and Team Girl Won!

Now it’s time for Team Girl to battle it out in a quick game of Mad Gab!  I also went thru those cards and picked out baby related cards.  I called out each clue and the person to guess the right answer first got to pick an envelope.  I had 10 envelopes to choose from!

Time to open the envelopes…..could one of them have the REVEAL????

Okay so I tricked everybody and the reveal was not in any of the envelopes that got picked.  It is in the one in Aunt Jay Jay’s hand.  It worked our perfect b/c my sister was running late….she walked in just in time and Chris gave Maddox the REAL REVEAL envelope and he went running to Aunt Jay Jay and so she got to open it for him. 

Team Girl was shocked!!!! Everyone just knew it was a girl!  They wanted to see my Ultra Sound pics for proof.  As soon as they saw them…they said “ Oh my gosh…definitely a boy!!!”

What an Amazing Day!!!!  We are just so overjoyed about our Baby Boy and we can’t wait to start planning…names…nursery…etc.
