Tonight as I was rocking my little man to sleep, I was thinking of how fast he's growing & how quickly he's changing & learning new stuff. I would like to say I would be able to always remember every stage & the exact age he was when he started developing his skills, cutting a new tooth, or wearing a certain size, But the truth is....I can't remember yesterday!!! So while it is fresh on my mind...I'm putting it down!!
Maddox, this is what you are up to!!!
You are 8 months & 6 days old weighing in at 27lbs!! You are in 12-18 month clothing & fill them up well!
I love trying to get kissies from you but you only give them sparingly!! Last night you laid one on me & bit my lip with your 8 teeth. Yep, you have 2 bottom teeth & 6 others cutting in at one time!! Even thru all that gum cutting pain, you still sleep all night & smile & laugh most of the time.
You are a great eater!!! You eat just about everything we offer you!! We are currently feeding you stage 3 baby foods & sometimes table food. Nana gives you lots of table food, even Hershey bar!! You ate half of my baked beans at Bar B Que King today....it'll be interesting to see that diaper! We've tried to give you a sippy cup but you're not feelin it yet so we'll just keep tryin.
Some of the things you do that are too cute right now are saying dada...dada....! That's really not fair, you should have said mama-mama! Daddy is eatin it up though! You are a pro at giving everyone five and you can wave hey and bye-bye when you're in the mood. Peek-a-boo was one of your first tricks! Where's Maddox? and you bury your face in a blanket!! Too Cute!! Nana has taught you patty cake & your starting to get the hang of it pretty good....You still clap with one hand in a fist & the other one open!! You love your doorway jumper & everyone loves to watch you in it!!! It is too funny sometimes. We say you should have some really strong leg muscles b/c you get way up in the air & you will jump for a really long time. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is your favorite cartoon & you love your personalized music cd of Mickey, Minnie & Goofy. (Daddy & I love it too! We have all the songs running threw our head all day long) You have a very loud squeal so it's easy to find you in Target when Daddy's pushing you around. It's a cute happy squeal...at least we think so!!
I don't know if you will ever crawl. You may decide to skip that stage. The reason I think that is because you HATE being on your stomach! I started doing tummy time with you since you were born but you have never liked it!! When you see a toy that you want to get, you really try to get it but if you go for it & end up on your stomach you roll straight to your back and just chill there until someone sits you back up. It is really ok, we are in no hurry for you to crawl or walk anytime soon. It will come fast enough & I just want to savor the time of your life of no mobility!!
Well sweet baby, I know there is so much more & I promise you I will do a better job putting it down!
Words can never express how much joy you have brought to our life. We love you soooo much & thank God everyday for blessing us with the gift of you!

Happy Valentines Day!!
It's another first for our little man!! His first Valentines Day!! I've always loved being Chris's Valentine but I am so excited to have another Valentine in my life...My little Maddox. I love buying clothes for my little man and I now have a favorite item, "My Mommy is My Valentine" shirt. It's really too bad he wore it for the last time today. (Unless he slows down growing extremely!) I made everyone that looked at him read it....including his Dr. yesterday!! What can I say, I'm a proud Mommy!!!
Anyway, we had a great Valentines Day! We went to church, hung out at home & then delivered some Valentine gifts to family. The Amazing Race came on tonight & I was so excited to watch it b/c Jeff & Jordan from Big BRother are on there!! I love them!! I'm now hooked to this season & have already picked out my favorite teams & the teams I'm ready to see get the boot!! The team that got eliminated tonight was a married couple and they were so sweet. The husband couldn't complete his challenge and his wife was so supportive & was still so proud of him. She didn't have one negative thing to say about him except how proud she was & she knew he gave it his all and that as long as they have each other, that is all they need. Her attitude really spoke to me on how we should always look at the positive in our spouse, or in anyone, even thru there incompletions. If that were me, I'd probaly wopped him upside the head & said "Thanks alot for getting us eliminated!!" So that was a heart touching moment for me to make me want to be a better wife to my husband. What a great Valentines!!

A Snowed in Weekend!! Where is the Cabin Fever?
So on Friday around 3:00 p.m, we started to see the first flakes begin to fall!! Of course I was at work but what an exciting work day it was. When the forecast calls for a good chance of snow accumulation, I can't help but to get excited. I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve and my coworkers feel the same way so there is alot of anticipation in the air. The last snow we got (6 weeks ago) was pretty but I didn't get to enjoy a minute of it. It was the Friday before Christmas & that is a very important day in the beauty industry. Women NEED their hair done!! I promised my clients if they could find a way to the salon, I would be there for them, so I ended up working thru the last snow. So I was soooo excited that I had the weekend off & could really enjoy this one!!!
It's so funny how having a baby changes you. Before Maddox, I would have gone CRAZY if I would have had to stay in the house all day. So why do I have no problem with it now? Our day started
off sweet with chocolate chip pancakes for
breakfast, I got my 504 piece puzzle fix, lots of quality time with Chris & Maddox, and Mom and Dad came over for supper & then we played UNO!! How fun!! I know that I couldn't handle 2 days of it but not having to change out of my pajama pants & sweatshirt for the day was GREAT!!
Today was so much fun also!!! Chris made grits, eggs, & bacon for breakfast, very scrumptuous!! Maddox got his first experience in the snow!! We took him out & made a few pictures. He didn't care to much for sitting in the snow, he looked like he just didn't know what to think about it! Our neighbor kids came over with their sleds & we did a little sledding down our front yard! It was fun, I got to take Maddox on his first sled ride!! I know he'll really get into it next year & it will be even funner but I'm in no hurry for him to grow up & be to that point. I just want to savor him being 7 months!! The roads were starting to clear a little so we decided to go for a joy ride & ended up at McDonalds for my Caramel Latte fix, we got to see the awesome home our best friends are buying, and then we ended up at Hallman Hill! It was the funniest thing, Joy & I sledded down the driveway like little kids, (Chris followed us in the Tahoe b/c we were about to leave) we decided to go back and get Tori to come spend the night with us so we hooked the sleds to these 2 hooks on the front of the Tahoe and hopped in, then Chris backed all the way up their winding driveway pulling those sleds on the front!!! I know that had to be a sight!! So we topped the night off with 2 Dominos pizzas, cheesy bread, cinna stix, home videos, Guess Who, and the Grammys! Tori is now snoozin on one couch, Chris on the other, Maddox in his crib & I'm winding down!! Despite the fact I missed being in God's House today, I praise God for such an Awesome Day!!

Where oh Where does time go???
So I was inspired by a friend who I was doing her hair tonight to update my blog. If there is one thing everyone should know about me, it is that I have a hard time making myself write! God has laid it on my heart so many times to keep a journal & I have not obeyed. I know that he has a reason that i'm suppose to do it so I need some follower support to help keep me on track!
I was just reading my last blog & I just don't understand where time has gone. Maddox is now 7 months old!!! How quickly he went from 7 weeks to 7 months. I know that there has been so many awesome moments & memories during that time and it would be impossible to recollect them all. So I'm going to do my best to sum up the last 5 months & then i'm going to do my best to stay on top of my blogging!
So my little 8lb newborn baby is now soaring off the charts at a whopping 25 lbs!! At his six month well visit, the Dr said "He is the size of a 12 month old". One thing is for sure, I absolutely love it!! I wanted a big baby & God surely did answer my prayer!! Maddox is thriving!! He eats all the baby food Gerber & Beech Nut make & he sucks every bottle dry!! He is a healty boy!! At his 6 month Dr visit she did find a heart murmur. We took Maddox on Jan. 11th to have a cardiogram & the specialist found a condition called pulmonary stenosis. It is a very mild condition that should never cause him any trouble or that would never need any kind of intervention. We are very relieved that everything is OK but I am believing that he doesn't even have to live the rest of his life with even that. I don't feel like God wants us to settle for any kind of health problem whether its big or small so I'm believing that God is going to go ahead and nip it in the bud now & when we take him back in 6 months I'm confessing that by his stripes we are healed and they are not even going to find anything!!!
Ok on with more updates before i start shoutin!!

Christmas was absolutely Wonderful!!! This was the funnest Christmas since I don't know when!! Having a 6 month baby at Christmas time brings Joy beyond measure!! I tried to cherish every moment. December was a very busy month & I had a few moments during that time I felt like I was missing out on too much of Maddox's life. I had to realize it was just from all the extra holiday festivities that was making it feel that way and things would eventually get back to normal, so I talked myself out of quitting work, selling my house & living in a tent so that i could spend more time with him!! I'm sure all moms have felt that way! Its jus
t super hard to find a balance sometimes. If I could give one piece of advice to younger women, it would be to save, save, save, your money & try to live off your husbands salary so that when you have a baby, you can have the option to stay at home. I would have never dreamed I would have ever considered wanting to stay at home but after you have the baby, you change a lot of your thinking!! A career can always be acheived later in life but you can never get those early years of your child back.
Well, I have so much more to say & update but I'm gonna try to spread it all out over the next several blogs so that this one doesn't turn into a book!!

Little Maddox is already 7 1/2 weeks old!!!
I absolutely can't believe how fast time flies!!!!! I just read my last blog & so much has happened since then!! Of course, little Maddox is here now & life just couldn't be any sweeter!!
Maddox decided he was going to try and come on his due date, but he is his mothers child, so of course he was 2 hours & 17 minutes late from making it. Imagine that!! I should have known he wouldn't be early or on time, but just a little bit late!! My water broke at home at 8:00 p.m on Wed, June 17th. Chris had gone to Kings Mountain to help a friend cut up trees from a bad storm that had passed thru earlier in the week. I told him to, "go ahead, i will be fine, this babe is not coming tonight" the dr's had been telling me for the last 2 weeks he would be here anytime. I decided that just b/c the dr that i saw that same morning told me i was dilated to a 4 and thinned out, it didn't mean a thing!!Lol!! So anyway, after my water broke, i begin contracting. At first they were not very painful but an hour later when i arrived at the hospital, I WAS BOUT TO DIE!!! I now know what a labor pain feels like, but truthfully i've already forgotten!! I got my epidural around 10:30 and that made a world of difference. I still felt my contractions but they were toned down greatly!!! I started pushing a little before 2 and he was here 20 minutes later!! I will never forget that moment they laid him on my chest, it was very surreal! I couldn't believe that i had a baby!! He was absolutely beautiful!! Love at first sight!! He weighed 8lb 10oz and was 20 3/4 in. long. My hospital experience was great! Our nurses were wonderful, the food was good, and we had lots of visitors that came to welcome him to the world!!
Maddox is a wonderful baby!! Everyone told us before he was born to get all the sleep we could because we wouldn't get it once the baby was here but Maddox has not proved that true. He lets us sleep at night!!! All he requires is a bottle every 3 or more hours!! When you look into the eyes of a babe, you truly see God's love!! Amazing!! Chris & I are so thankful for our Blessing. God's Promise!!
So Maddox is 7 1/2 weeks old now which is super hard to believe!! He is growing so fast. We think he is already around 12-13 lbs. He is smiling & cooing now. It melts my heart. His dedication ceremony was this morning at church. We had lots of friends and family who came to be apart of this special event. Laura & Nathan wrote him the most beautiful song and sang it to him!! My family & friends have been absolutely awesome in helping, giving, praying, & supporting us as we adjust to our new addition!! I don't know what i would do without my family!! So, tomorrow is my last official day of maternity leave, and i hope i don't cry all day!! I'm going to miss spending all my time with him. I am very blessed that mama will be keeping him the days i work. Chris keeps reminding me that absence makes the heart grow fonder, i can't imagine it could grow any fonder for the little fellow, it is already overflowing!!
Well, like i've said before, i'm going to try to do better updating my blog. I love going back & reading things i've already wrote, it takes you back to those moments so much clearer!! You can truly see all God's blessings!!!

Maddox Brell Carrigan
So, i've been very bad at keeping my blog updated!! So lets see if i can catch the last 22 weeks up!!
In January we found out that Georgie is A Boy!!! So he is no longer Georgie he is now Maddox Brell Carrigan!! We were so excited to find out we were having a boy, not that it mattered either way but i know Chris was hoping deep down for a boy!! Seeing him on the ultrasound was awesome!!! It was probally one of the coolest things i've ever seen!! As soon as the tech put the thing on my belly Maddox wanted us to know he was a boy!! Very clear pic!!
I have felt pretty good since i got over all the nauseau & queesiness in the beginning. I had an issue with my siatic nerve but I was healed of that!! Thank you Jesus!!! I have one swolen leg and foot, but other than that everything is great!!
I have had 3 showers. My work shower was April 18th, My sissies, cousins & friends gave me a shower on April 25th that was awesome, there were probally close to 50 people who came! This past Sunday I had a church shower! Got lots of diapers!!! Maddox is already a blessed little boy! We are so appreciative of all the gifts that have been given!!!
So, I have 6 weeks left & I can't wait to see him! Chris & I are just really anxious now!!
