Monster Jam and Panthers Weekend

But before I get started here are a few pics of Maddox and Stella from last Wednesday.  She is seriously the cutest and sweetest four month old baby girl!!  Maddox loves holding her and is so sweet to her!

Saturday we took the boys to the Monster Jam!! We went to the 2:00 show which worked out perfectly since it was super rainy Saturday.

Poor Ryder didn’t feel so great. 

We met up with the Ratliff’s at Sammy’s in Belmont to eat lunch and then on to the Monster Jam.

This was Ryder’s first Monster Jam and I think he enjoyed it but with him not feeling so well….he made no facial expressions the whole time we were there.  Bless.

Sunday I scored  a ticket to the Panther Playoff game thru Laura.

I was so excited about going to such a big game but I was also really excited about tailgating for the first time ever.  Yes, you heard me right…I had never tailgated.

And that’s all….my battery got drained in 15 min and we LOST……so sad!  But it was a blast!

Best of all was spending time with my Sissy……nothing like a good sister date!!!

All of my boys stayed home and cheered them on!!

Poor Maddox woke up throwing up Sunday morning so Chris had his work cut out for him at home…..and because we like to do things as a family….I got sick on Sunday night during the night…..yuck.  So I said that to say…I’ve always wondered how in the world I could take care of two little ones while being sick myself.  Well… here’s my story of how I did it.  God intervened and my boys turned into ANGELS for the day.  I layed on the couch all day and they played perfectly together in the living room all day!  It was a miracle from God!!  They were so good and I was so thankful!!

Such a fun weekend in this somewhat not so fun month of January!!

My Boys!!

I feel like I need to do a huge long blog all about my boys!!  I have been so slack in blogging I am failing at recording things about them at each stage.  Their little personalities are continually changing and some days I’m not sure I’m going to make it thru and other days….I want to freeze time.  Because the thoughts of trying to recap the last 6-8 months completely overwhelms me…I’m going to start small….and promise myself that I’m going to do better about recording….my boys!

As you can see from the picture below….we are (literally) eating, breathing and sleeping football right now!  Ha! Not really….but my boys have gone football crazy!!!  Every night when I finally sit down on the couch they love me to pass football with them.  When I get tired of doing that…Maddox starts using that crazy imagination of his and makes up two teams….then ask me who I want to win…”Mommy…do you want the Gamecocks or the Panthers to get a touchdown?”  A minute later….he’s asking me about two more teams.  He throws the “Tigers” in there a lot….and I tell him….we NEVER pull for the Tigers around here!  But he insist that he really likes the Tigers….because that’s his favorite animal!  Why God?  ha!  I hope down the road I’m not making one of those wreaths that says…”HOUSE DIVIDED”.  Surely he’ll come to his senses by then….oh I pray!  He throws the football up in the air to himself, catches it and crashes on the floor…I have no idea how he is not completely bruised from head to toe….boys are tough!

Now little Ryder….he is such a mess!  We have had a time out of him lately!  My Mom has even threatened that she may need us to put in him daycare because she is just frazzled from him by the end of the day.  When Mom started keeping Stella….Ryder decided he was not going to nap at her house anymore.  So my Mom now has a 3 month old, a 4 year old and a 2 year old that DOESN’T NAP!  I can feel her pain!  Maddox doesn’t nap anymore but he will have quiet time on the couch and watch Disney….but Ryder doesn't know anything about “quiet time”.  But besides that….he is seriously the sweetest little 2 year old I know…and he LOVES his Mommy!  He is doing great in Preschool…he loves to go.  He loves being with Maddox….they fuss their share but overall they play great together.  Maddox likes to use his size to his advantage and wrestle and tackle Ryder….but Ryder is tough to be so much smaller….he may not have the size but I’m pretty sure the boy has heart!!

I have barely skimmed the surface with these two.  There are so many details I want to record.  But not tonight…because I want to start small and do better….so I’m sticking to it!

Halloween 2013

Halloween was  fun, busy, stressful, exhausting and full of candy!!  Pretty much, the perfect day!!!

I had been eyeing this Football costume for Maddox since he was 2!!  I just couldn’t bring myself to pay the ridiculous Pottery Barn price for it!  So this year I lucked up and found it for less than half on Ebay!!! Whoop Whoop!

So since I LOVE coordinating costumes…..Ryder HAD TO BE A FOOTBALL FIELD!!  The only problem was….I search online high and low, but could not find the costume.  So that only left one resort….DIY!!  Thanks to my husband for helping me!  He even did a little sewing on the project!!!  Man after my own heart!!!

First stop was trick or treating at my Mawmaw’s church…Lander’s Chapel, it is just up the street from our house.  It is a small church and they had about 5 trunk or treat cars!

I could seriously eat her up!!  Laura wore a shirt with “SHORT” wrote on it and Nathan had a shirt with “CAKE” on it.  So all together they were Strawberry Short Cake!!!  So cute!!

My sweet friend Misty!  We trick or treat at her house every year!  She spoils the boys with prizes and cupcakes!!  Not to mention her house is absolutely AMAZING….decked out for Halloween!

There were only about 4 houses with lights on in our neighborhood so we hit them last!  The boys LOVED being out in the dark and getting to walk thru the neighborhood trick or treating!

Kim came out and was talking to the boys…..Maddox was ready to shed his costume.  He was wearing all brown underneath it so we were picking with him earlier and told him when he took his costume off…he became a terd.  So naturally what did he tell Kim after he took his costume off….”Now I’m a Terd”…..she started dying laughing!  Great end to a great night!!
