Ryder’s Nursery Sneak Peek!!

So we definitely still have a lot to do in the nursery but slowly and surely it is starting to come together!!

I wanted to make Ryder’s nursery completely different from Maddox’s!  Chris had a lot of input (sports, blue, sports) on how we did Maddox’s room so he gave me permission to do whatever I wanted to do in Ryder’s!!! Yay!!

Chris got out lucky on this nursery b/c he did not have to do any painting.  The room was an office before and we had already painted it this mossy green color….which I love and did not want to have to change.  I just didn’t think I would find boy bedding that would go with green.  I found my inspiration from a custom baby bedding website but it was way too expensive to buy so….I found the exact same fabric online at a fabric website and ordered it.  When it came in….I was so excited to see that the green in the fabric was in the same green family as the wall color!!! Yay again!!

My talented Mom custom made my bedding!!!  She did an amazing job and to beat all….this was the first time she has done crib bedding!!! Wow!!!  I hope to learn to sew like her one day!!

I didn’t really know about sock monkeys when Maddox was a baby so I definitely wanted to get a sock monkey for Ryder!

I also didn’t know about Etsy when I was planning Maddox’s nursery….which was probably a  good thing! ha!  The blocks are from www.msn2hood.etsy.com I just got them in the mail today and am just tickled over them!!!

A little sneak peek at the crib bedding!!

The orange lanterns are decorations from Maddox’s birthday party that I am thinking about hanging up in a corner….what do you think?  Yay or Nay?

And this is Mr. froggy….he is also a decoration that was from Maddox’s party and he matches perfectly in the room….he doesn’t have a permanent spot yet but I’m sure we will find one soon!  My mom also made the curtains!   She is currently working on pillows and my sister made the most beautiful crocheted blanket that matches his bedding.  I got a sneak peek at it the other day and was blown away at how beautiful and perfectly it matches!!  I still want to make a trip to Ikea soon and find a bookcase and we are going to do something special behind his crib!  Other than a few more things to hang and some accessories it will hopefully be finished up soon!!! So exciting!!!

Project List…lots of checks!!!

It has been a great and productive weekend!!  Chris and I have accomplished a lot in our 2 short days…we even had time for some fun with friends!!

One thing I love about having company other than enjoying the company is ….it makes me clean my house!!! Don’t get me wrong…I clean even when I don’t have company coming but it never seems to all get done at the same time…so It doesn’t have the same feel!  I love when my house is clean and organized…I just wish it would stay that way for more than a night!!  My good friends Keleigh and Andrea came over Saturday night and we enjoyed some House of Pizza, some good girl talk and playing with Baby E

Today….Chris put the final touches on the new play set!!!!  It turned out great and he did a fabulous job!!  Maddox and Ryder will have years of fun playing on this!!!

 

Another project completed today was painting the deck!!  Chris painted it about 3 years ago when we moved in but it was looking really bad…I  wish I had before pictures!!  It’s amazing what paint does!!

My Sweet Hubby!

I just wanted to take a minute to brag on Chris. 

I am so blessed to have such an amazing husband.  Tonight my back was hurting a little and I was really tired when I got home from work.  Chris had worked all day, came home and worked on the playset until dark, and took care of all of Maddox’s needs just so I could rest.  I thanked him for doing all that and he says…”well I’m not pregnant”.  I’m so glad I have such a compassionate understanding husband who picks up my slack.  Not many men out there would put themselves in their pregnant wives shoes!!

I love you babe!!  Thanks for all you do for our family!!

29 Weeks and 3 days

I know it is crazy I have to add in the days part but….I am counting down the days too!!

How Far Along: 29 Weeks

Size of baby: Ryder is the size of a butternut squash

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I quit weighing!!

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans and pants but everything else is regular.

Gender: It's a Boy!!! Ryder Thomas Carrigan

Movement: Lots of movement…I can see my belly jump when I’m sitting still!

Sleep: GREAT!

What I miss: Not much right now!

Cravings:ummmm maybe…sweat tea

Symptoms: some swelling in my legs

Best Moment this week: getting the nursery bedding and feeling all the movement!!

 

Handsome Little Man

I am just so happy that at almost 2 years old…Maddox is still letting me take his picture and will actually smile in some of them!  To be honest…I think he loves to look at himself and he LOVES to watch himself on video.  Maybe he will always love the camera!

On Saturday…Chris went to Sam’s and we made this big investment….a new playset!!!

We started it on Saturday evening but a storm came up soon after we got started. On Sunday Chris was able to work on it for about 5 hours and this is the progress that was made.  Our sweet neighbors came over and helped out too!

Hopefully by next weekend….it will be completed and Maddox can start having some fun in the back yard!!!

Catch Up Time!!

I have been a little slack keeping up with my blogging lately.  Mainly because I have been trying to be more productive on my days off  which in turn keeps me from picking up my camera as much….which then leads to less blogging!  No pics….no blog! (because I usually let the pics do the talking!)

Last Monday…..  My mom came over to bring Ryder’s bedding that she custom made. (Nursery sneak peek to come!)  My niece Tori was out of school on Monday and had spent Sunday night with my mom….so Maddox was excited to get a visit from Tori!!  When my Mom and Tori went to leave….Maddox sit down on her and wouldn’t let her get up…it was too funny!  So Tori just hung out with us the rest of the day!!  Maddox eats her up!!

Maddox just climbed on her lap and snuggled with her for at least an hour!  He was sleepy but that is still unlike him to do!!

They are watching Imagination Movers Concert!!

How precious!!! 

Saturday….I had most of the day to myself!!  Joy kept Maddox for me while I went and did some Baby Registering!!  I don’t need that much other than diapers but my sweet Sisters are giving me a shower on May 7th and I am looking so forward to it!  Laura made the invitations and they are absolutely adorable!!!!

I’m loving the special parking right now!!!

You can definitely see where Maddox gets his handsomeness from!!

Sunday was so BEAUTIFUL!!! We picked up some Bojangles after church and decided to eat outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather!!!

We ended our beautiful day by firing up the pit and making some smores!!!

Maddox just kept eating the Hershey’s chocolate.  He was sneaking it!!

I had that wonderful Glucose test this morning and so Maddox was with Papaw and Nana! They went out and had a big breakfast and then made a stop by the community fire department so Maddox could see the fire trucks up close and personal!!!  My mom took the pics with her phone! Priceless!

When we are on the road….Maddox always sees and points out “fi tuck”!!

I’m 27 weeks and 2 days!!

Wow…I can’t believe I’m nearing 30 weeks!!   Sometimes it seems like I have such a long time to go but then at times it feels like time is really flying by!!  I am very thankful to be pregnant and to have a healthy pregnancy but I must say….I don’t love being pregnant.  I do love feeling Ryder move and kick but that is about all.

How Far Along: 27 Weeks

Size of baby: Ryder is the size of an eggplant

Total Weight Gain/Loss: A lot

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans and pants but everything else is regular.

Movement: He’s getting pretty active….especially when I’m still!

Cravings: Ice Cream

Symptoms: My legs are starting to swell and my sciatica nerve has been bothering me

Best Moment this week:  Hearing the heartbeat, buying some cute outfits and seeing his crib put together!
