I’m 27 weeks and 2 days!!

Wow…I can’t believe I’m nearing 30 weeks!!   Sometimes it seems like I have such a long time to go but then at times it feels like time is really flying by!!  I am very thankful to be pregnant and to have a healthy pregnancy but I must say….I don’t love being pregnant.  I do love feeling Ryder move and kick but that is about all.

How Far Along: 27 Weeks

Size of baby: Ryder is the size of an eggplant

Total Weight Gain/Loss: A lot

Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity jeans and pants but everything else is regular.

Gender: It's a Boy!!! Ryder Thomas Carrigan

Movement: He’s getting pretty active….especially when I’m still!

Sleep: GREAT!

What I miss: Energy

Cravings: Ice Cream

Symptoms: My legs are starting to swell and my sciatica nerve has been bothering me

Best Moment this week:  Hearing the heartbeat, buying some cute outfits and seeing his crib put together!

Our Weekend!!

On Saturday…I worked half the day and while I was at work…Maddox’s cousin Kenny came over for a visit.  I hated I wasn’t at home to enjoy watching them play together but I am so proud of my hubs for thinking to take pictures!!!  Chris said Maddox was so good playing with Kenny…he shared his toys very well and was really sweet!  Maddox only gets interaction with kids his age at church nursery or when we get together with friends so I’m so happy he plays well with them!

Today has been close to perfect!!  If Carolina would have won….it would have been perfect!!  The weather has flashed back to winter so after church we came home to a crock pot of Buffalo Chicken Soup and have just relaxed most of the day.  While Maddox napped, Chris went to run and I made some more progress in the nursery.  It has been a process just trying to get the room cleaned out!  Hopefully I can start sharing some pics soon of the progress!

This week is a very special week in our house….we will be celebrating my oldest baby’s 34th birthday!!!

Maddox is 21 Months

Maddox…you are 21 months!!!  It blows my mind that you will be 2 in less than 3 months!!  I don’t like the thoughts of you being 2 but I have enjoyed you at every stage so I know that there is so much fun to come!

You weigh around 34 lbs, size 5 diaper, clothes…mixture right now…you still wear a lot of your 24 month or 2T but I have been buying you 3T for the summer….they are a little big but I’m sure you will fill them our by summertime!  You are wearing size 6 and 7 shoes.  Hats…you take a 3t or 4t or bigger!

I adore this picture of you!  I asked you if you would take your paci out and smile….and….you did!!!  It was the cutest thing!!  I just wanted to squeeze you!!  I only snapped one pic b/c I was just so thankful that you smiled on cue….I didn’t want to press my luck!!!   We had just got back from getting groceries at Wal-Mart and boy was that an adventure!!  We try not to make big grocery trips anymore with you because you get a little antsy in the buggy!  You did super good about half way thru and then you were done with it!!  You cracked me up calling every woman over the age of 50 Maw Maw!!!  You made you one Wal-Mart Maw Maw during the trip but the rest of the ladies probably didn’t like being called Maw Maw! 

 

You are talking up a storm but I think  Daddy and I are the only ones who can fully understand most of what you say.  I always wondered how parents knew what their kids were saying when no one else did…now I know!! 

You love playing basketball and you have finally learned how to catch!!  Last night, Daddy was throwing you the basketball and you did so good catching it!  We would cheer for you and you would get so excited and cheer for yourself too….precious moment….just wanted to bottle it up!!

I know I am biased but I think you are so smart!!  You amaze me at how quick you catch on to things!  You are starting to recognize colors….your first color was PINK!!! Ha!  Daddy did not like that very well, so he quickly taught you green and blue!

You love bath  time and will now let us put some bubbles in your bath!  You do not like it when we say are you ready to go night night….you usually start crying but once we get you to your room…you are fine and go to sleep very easily!

You are becoming more loving….you give kisses more now and you will kiss my belly when I ask you “will you give baby Ryder loving”  it is so sweet!!  You are going to be such a GREAT Big Brother!!

At night when I get home from work…you always go upstairs with me to change clothes and you love to jump on our bed while I’m changing! 

Every time we say “lets pray”  you always say…”Nana and Paw Paw”…meaning…you want them prayed for.

Your eating habits are unpredictable.  One day you will eat everything offered to you  and clean your plate…the next day you might not eat anything except goldfish!! 

Well sweet baby…that is it for now…I’m excited to see what next month will bring!!  We love you so much!!!!

Maddox Meets the Veggie Tales!!

Friday nights are generally spent at home resting after a long hard work week.  Here is some sweet pics of Chris and Maddox sleeping so soundly after falling asleep on the couch….Maddox doesn’t usually fall asleep in the living room so he must have been  really tired!!  When we ask him if he is ready to go “night night’  he has a whole list of reasons not to..like “Play Ball”, “Eat”, or “backball goal” (basketball goal).  Meaning…he wanst to “boot” (shoot) ball at his basketball goal!

 

On Saturday…Me and my Mom took Maddox to meet Bob and Larry!!  He didn’t really warm up to them very well….as you can see from the pics….but now he can say…he has met them in person!!

Saturday evening we met up with our good friends…The Ratliffs and The Kisers at Koto’s for Chase’s Birthday!

Maddox is adoring Baby Elynd!

All Maddox would eat at the restaurant was a sucker dipped in shrimp sauce!!!  Yuck!!!  He sure seemed to like it!

This was the entrance of the restaurant…they had a bunch of fishes!!  Maddox was really into watching them!  I actually had to bring him out to watch them just to keep him happy.  He is such a good little boy but man it is getting tough to go out and eat sometimes…he just can’t stand having to sit in the high chair very long and the minute you get him out…he takes off!!! 

Sweet little Baby Elynd….she is such a DOLL BABY!!!  I’m going to be upset if her and Maddox don’t get married!!

This morning we had an awesome church service as usual and have just enjoyed our Sunday!!!  Tomorrow I have my monthly dr. appt and I always look forward to hearing Baby Ryder’s heartbeat…..it just makes my day!!!

Minnie Mouse Party and Cheerleading Competition!

I love the fact that I am going to have 2 Boys and will be involved in probably every boy sport there is but thank goodness I have friends and family who have girls!!!  I still get to go to girly events!! 

On Saturday, my best friend Krista had her sweet little girl Elan a Minnie Mouse 2nd birthday party! All her decorations were so cute and Elan looked like a doll in her little outfit!! Maddox was not the best sport at the party.  He was a little hard to please….could this be the signs of the terrible 2’s starting?

The Birthday Girl!!

On Sunday we went to early service at my sisters church so that we could make it to UNCC for Tori’s Cheerleading Competition by lunch!  Notice…Maddox is wearing the same clothes but we washed them the night before…I just love the brighter clothes on these warmer days!!

Maddox did great at the competition considering it was his nap time!  Having his Aunt JJ, Uncle Kev, Caine and Tori there to entertain him sure helped!!

Maddox was fascinated with this bald head in front of us….he kept rubbing it.  Thank goodness we knew the man!

After the competition, Maddox took a nice long nap and then we still had about 2 hours to enjoy the beautiful day!!!  I am so happy the time has changed!!!  I gladly gave up that hour of sleep…..so worth it!!!
